AMFI: Share of industry assets held by individual investors has reduced to 52.0% in Sep 2020, compared with 54.1% in Sep 2019

According to data from AMFI, share of industry assets held by individual investors has reduced to 52.0% in Sep 2020, compared with 54.1% in Sep 2019. Meanwhile, institutional investors account for 48.0% of the assets, of which corporates are 94%. The rest are Indian and foreign institutions and banks. Further, individual investors primarily hold equity-oriented schemes while institutions hold liquid and debt-oriented schemes. 68% of individual investor assets are held in equity-oriented schemes, while, 75% of institutions assets are held in liquid / money market schemes and debt-oriented schemes.
