SEBI tweaks multi cap fund rules

SEBI has issued a circular with an aim to diversify the underlying investments of multi cap Funds across the large, mid and small cap companies and be true to label. It has decided to partially modify the scheme characteristics of multi cap funds. Accordingly, minimum investment in equity and equity related instruments is 75% of the total net assets in case of multi cap funds. Within the equity space, minimum investment in equity and equity related instruments of large, mid and small cap companies should be 25% of the total net assets under each market cap category. The provision need to be complied within one month from the date of publishing the next list of stocks by AMFI, i.e. Jan 2021.
