As per data reported by Association of Mutual Fund in India (AMFI) for Dec 2019, net inflow in equity-oriented schemes (both open-ended and close-ended) stood at Rs. 4,432 crore. That compares with Rs. 933 crore in Nov 2019. Inflows in the equity category remain subdued despite improvement in gross inflows. This is attributable to the redemptions in equity mutual fund, which came in as high as Rs. 15,605 crore (both open-ended and close-ended). Investors are profit booking to capitalize on the high market. Focused and large cap funds saw healthy inflows during the period.
