Industry AUM comes in at Rs. 18.96 lakh crore

According to data from the Association of Mutual Funds in India, the asset under management of the domestic mutual fund industry went up to Rs. 18.96 lakh crore in Jun 2017 from Rs. 13.81 lakh crore in Jun 2016. The asset size of liquid fund category increased 41.29% over the year to Rs. 3.44 lakh crore, followed by equity fund category, which rose 38.10% to Rs.5.25 lakh crore and income fund category, up 26.08% to Rs. 7.78 lakh crore. However, the fund size of the industry declined marginally, from Rs. 19.04 lakh crore in May 2017. During the month, the income fund category witnessed an outflow of Rs. 20,685 crore followed by liquid fund category, with an outflow of Rs. 12,379 crore. On the brighter side, equity fund category (including ELSS) saw inflow of Rs. 8,164 crore during the month.
