An association of mutual fund agents has suggested Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to allow distributors to give incidental advice to investors, as this will be helpful for customers to buy mutual fund products. Earlier, SEBI had proposed that distributors providing incidental investment advice would have to mandatorily register under SEBI's IA Regulations; else they should not be allowed to provide such advice with regard to mutual fund products.
